Governor Rule and Emergency imposed in KP
President Asif Ali Zardari has imposed Governor Rule and Emergency in KP. President has signed the emergency summary forwarded by the Prime Minister Office following decision by the cabinet.
The Emergency and Governor rule was imposed under article 132 and 134 of the constitution. The Emergency was imposed on the charge of growing incidents of terrorism and serious law and order in the province. The summary states that the provincial government had failed to stop attacks on government institutions and officials of law enforcement agencies.The summary further states that the Chief Minister and his cabinet would be dysfunctional with immediate effect and the Governor will take over the administrative functions of the province. The National Assembly will review the situation of emergency after two months.
It is also learnt that the federal government has appointed Dr Muhammad Fakhar Alam Irfan appointed as federal secretary Power division as new Chief Secretary KP. He is conveyed to take charge of his new assignment without any delay.
It is worth mentioning that the cabinet meeting was held today to discuss KP situation. The PM had given was task to JUI Chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman to discuss with PTI leadership on stopping it's March towards Islamabad.
